A poem

What I Wanted You to Know

Words I wanted you to have, without asking anything in return.

I know that you have heard my name from voices close and words that came. Stories told when I was gone, repeated softly, carried on. And maybe now the man you see has grown from what was said of me. From words I never got to know, while years between us seemed to grow. There are things I wish you knew, pieces of the past I’d share with you. Not to change the way you feel, just to let you know what’s real. I would never want your pain to carry someone else’s blame. I only fear that knowing why might hurt you more than wondering why. But sometimes silence has a cost, and sometimes truth explains what’s lost. There were doors I could not reach, words I never got to speak. There were moments taken wrong, things repeated far too long. And part of me still wants to say what really happened in

If you ever find this, there is no expectation. Just words I wanted you to have.
